This week in class we had a workshop called ''A mitad de camino'' by Juan Carlos from Centro de Vida y Carrera. What does the name of the workshop mean? Most of us are already are in 4th semester, that means we are almost half the way to finish our career.
I liked the workshop, it was very interesting, but beside that, It really made me think, not only in the time it was happening, but all week. My thoughts have been this workshop, I can say that im really worried! I think we have to start doing more things to be more prepared, in all areas, leadership activities, work experience, projects beyond school.
One thing I learnt from this workshop was how to do a CV correctly to catch the attention of a company, also, how to decorate (choose colors and format) depending on your personality or the job and company you're applying for.
For example, if you are applying for a very serious company, or for an informatics job, your CV is perfect in black and white. However, if you are a graphic or industrial designer you must do a very creative, colorful and eye catching CV.
On the other hand, Juan Carlos talked about job interviews, how they are important and how you must talk and behave, that you have show yourself as confident and trustworthy person.
This part makes me nervous because is your opportunity to show a company you are the person that they need. He showed us examples of questions they could ask you, personal one like your strengths and weakness or questions about what you know about the company.
It was really helpful the information they provide us. Finally, I can say I feel more prepared for job applications that I was before I took this workshop. It was really helpful the information they provide us.
